OAV Registration Resumes in Tokyo
On 2 November 2011, the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo again opened its doors to Filipino nationals who wish to register as Overseas Absentee Voters for the May 2013 Senatorial and Party List Representatives Elections. Within the first hour, a group of six applicants coming from different areas within the Embassy’s consular jurisdiction enthusiastically filled up their OAV application forms and had their biometric data captured. Ambassador Manuel M. Lopez welcomed the first six applicants and lauded them for their decision to register, which is the first step for them to exercise their right to vote.
The OAV registration period is up to 31 October 2012. For more information on OAV registration in Tokyo, the Embassy invites the Filipino community to visit its website http://tokyo.philembassy.net/ or e-mail oav@tokyophilembassy.net.
