Sickness

The Embassy extends assistance to Filipino nationals who have serious illnesses in Japan. Oftentimes, these Filipino nationals have no family members present in Japan.

In these cases, the Embassy can:

  • monitor the patient’s condition by coordinating with the hospital and assigned doctors;
  • provide or coordinate the provision of consular services such as issuance of passport and travel documents, civil registration, and notarization services;
  • facilitate repatriation with the family, if needed; and
  • coordinate with the Department of Health (DOH) and other related offices regarding the arrangements upon arrival in the Philippines.
