Senior Citizens of Japan Offer JPY 10Million for Typhoon Yolanda Relief
(Tokyo – 7 March 2014) – The Japan Federation of Senior Citizens’ Clubs, Inc. (JFSC) led by its Chairman, Mr. Juro Saito, came to the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo today to express the Japanese elderly’s support and solidarity with the Philippines in the aftermath of super typhoon “Yolanda”.
Together with by Mrs. Tokie Masuda (Vice-Chair), Mrs. Aiko Nagai (Vice-Chair), Mr. Yasumasa Naka (Vice Chair), Mr. Chikashi Masuju (Vice Chair), and Mr. Hideki Saito (Secretary General), JFSC Chairman Saito was received by Ambassador Manuel M. Lopez accompanied by Consul Bryan Dexter Lao.
Japanese senior citizens from over 100,000 clubs all over Japan affiliated with the JFSC were able to raise JPY 10,000,000 which they donated for the relief efforts being undertaken for the typhoon victims.
The JFSC boasts a membership of more than six million individuals.
