Philippine Embassy Supports Bench Philippines’ TERNOCON Featuring Four Filipino Designers at the Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo

Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano supported the staging of the third edition of BENCH Philippines’ TERNOCON at the Hikarie Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo, on 30 August 2023.
As part of this year’s Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo, BENCH featured more than 30 interpretations of the balintawak, which is the country version of the Philippine terno, by four (4) of the best Filipino designers, namely, Dennis Lustico, Joey Samson, Chito Vijandre, and Ricky Toledo.
Ambassador Garcia-Albano congratulated BENCH Philippines’ Chairman and CEO Mr. Ben Chan for the huge success of the show. It is hoped that the collection will help boost the Japanese people’s awareness and appreciation of the Filipino’s creativity and craftmanship in fashion, design, art, and culture.
