Filipino Wins Champion Trophy in Karate Competition in Japan
01 September 2015 – Chargé d’ Affaires (CDA) and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Philippine Embassy, Mr. Gilberto G.B. Asuque, congratulates Mr. Bernard C. Alvarina for winning the championship trophy in the 40 years old and above category of the 34th Japan Karate Do Hakuakai Annual Championships held in Tokyo on 23 August 2015.
Mr. Alvarina of Las Piñas City bested karate players in his category from seven participating countries. Over 400 karate players of various ages and categories competed in the tournament that capped an extensive training session conducted by the Japan Karate Do Hakuakai, Hombu Dojo, led by Mr. Fukuda Hirotaka, World Chief Instructor and President.
