Filipino Recognized at the Paralym Art World Cup 2019
The Philippine Embassy co-sponsored the Paralym Art World Cup 2019 which held its awarding ceremony at the Azabu Regional City Office on 16 October 2019.
With this year’s theme of “Dance”, Mr. Cham’s work, “Kadal Tahaw” depicted a bird dance performed by the Tiboli tribe of South Cotabato to celebrate good harvest. The dance mimics the hopping and flying behavior of the Tahaw bird.

A total of 12 artworks from the Philippines were shortlisted out of 774 artworks from 40 countries around the world.
In the same event, the Philippine Embassy Award was presented to the painting entitled “Harmony” depicting a traditional Japanese dance under the cherry blossoms.
The Paralym Arts World Cup was established to empower differently-abled individuals around the world and provide a platform to showcase their artistic talent.
