Philippine Embassy Won First Runner-up in the 2024 ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Bowling Tournament
The team from the Philippine Embassy won the first runner-up trophy in the 2024 ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) bowling tournament held at the Tokyo Port Bowl on 12 October 2024. This year’s ACT Bowling Tournament was hosted by the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam.
Two officials of the Philippine Embassy won individual prizes – the highest scorer among the female bowlers’ category, Ms. Ma. Katrina Ciara Garcia and third highest scorer in the male bowler’s category, Mr. Mars Zafra. The other members of the Philippine Embassy bowling team included Capt. Peter Tolentino (Team Leader), Mr. Tormuzie Indanan, Mr. Kristofferson Silva, Asst. Labor Attache Barwin Scott Villardon and Mr. Archie Baquilod.
All ten ASEAN Embassies formed teams of seven players for this tournament. The Secretary General of the ASEAN Japan Centre (AJC), Mr. Kunihiko Hirabayashi and his wife joined the tournament. They competed with the Ambassadors and Charge d’Affaires of ACT.
This bowling tournament is an annual sports event of ACT to strengthen camaraderie among its members and their families.
