Support for Tourists
Travel Insurance
Before your trip, make sure to get travel insurance that offers coverage for medical expenses incurred due to injury or illness in Japan and for repatriation to the Philippines in case of an accident/emergency. You can get such service for as low as 1,540 JPY (est. ₱700).
Work Restrictions
Any foreign visitor entering Japan must have a valid passport for the duration of their stay, and all visitors must comply with the conditions of their visas.
Foreign nationals wanting to work in Japan require an appropriate working visa. Japan visa requirements clearly state working or engaging in any paid activities on a short-term stay or tourist visa is strictly forbidden.
Lost Passport
If your passport was stolen, you are advised to report the loss/theft to the local Japanese Police Station and obtain a police report. In case it was lost, be sure to check all possible locations and places you have previously visited before having a new one processed. Inform the closest Philippine Embassy/Consulate General about the issue or visit this page for more information.
