Ambassador Laurel Leads the Oath Taking Ceremony for the New Officers of the Association of Filipino Students in Japan (AFSJ)
Outgoing President and incoming Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mr. Sean Patrick Jacob Razo, handed-over the AFSJ leadership to incoming President Leonid Zairion Dimaano. Mr. Dimaano, in turn, took the opportunity to introduce his team to Ambassador Laurel. Mr. Dimaano assured the Ambassador of AFSJ’s continuous and unwavering support for the Embassy and all of its activities. Ambassador Laurel, in his message, expressed his appreciation to AFSJ for its leadership and assistance to the Filipino student community in Japan. The Ambassador recalled how his father, a former University student in Japan, was one of the pioneers of the Association.
Ambassador Laurel ended his remarks by encouraging the Officers of AFSJ to make the most of every opportunity to live and study in Japan so that they may bring home the knowledge learned and experiences gained as their contributions for the continued growth and development of the Philippines.
The Oath-Taking ceremony was held at the Siazon Hall of the Philippine Embassy. Adhering to the health protocols, it was a private event attended only by the new officers and a few Embassy personnel. (END)
