08 October 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in Japan, through the Department of Tourism in Tokyo (DOT-Tokyo), and with the support of the ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC), held the “Love the Philippines Endorsers’ Night,” at the Ambassador’s Residence in Tokyo on 03 October 2024.

Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano hosted a vibrant early celebration of Filipino Christmas, bringing together a diverse group of young leaders and influencers who are committed to showcasing the beauty and rich culture of the Philippines.

Philippine tourism ambassador Alan Shirahama invited the participants from diverse backgrounds to reconnect with their roots, rediscover Philippine culture, and promote the beauty of the Philippines. In an exciting development for cultural and tourism exchange, Alan Shirahama, with travel influencers Kei and Aya, created Firipin Moriagetai (フィリピン盛り上げ隊) , a group that aims to actively promote the Philippines.

Ambassador Garcia-Albano expressed heartfelt gratitude to attendees for their dedication to promoting Filipino culture and heritage. “Tonight, we come together not only to celebrate the holiday season but to honor our shared heritage and the powerful role each of you play in uplifting our beautiful country,” she stated.

The event emphasized the unique qualities of Christmas in the Philippines, filled with joy, vibrant traditions, and a deep sense of community known as bayanihan. “You have amplified that spirit, using your voices to share the true essence of what it means to be Filipino,” Ambassador Garcia-Albano remarked, acknowledging the attendees’ contributions in highlighting Filipino food, music, festivals, and breathtaking destinations.

The Firipin Moriagetai aims to engage a wider audience by encouraging participants to explore and reconnect with their Filipino heritage. With the support of well-known personalities, the initiative seeks to elevate awareness of Philippine culture, its rich history, and the stunning destinations that await visitors.END
