Philippine Team wins at the 22nd Furinkazan National and International Martial Arts Karatedo Exchange Competition in Tokyo


The Philippine Team took home one (1) gold, two (2) silver, and four (4) bronze awards at the recently concluded 22nd Furinkazan National and International Martial Arts Karatedo Exchange Competition in Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo on 07 January 2024.

Karate athletes from the Philippine Air Force and Zamboanga City namely, Karen Mae Dajay, Leander Lloyd R De Leon, Angelo Silva, Aeron Amil L. Salvacion, Ric B. Maanao, Dennis B. Cuevas,JhonnaJerrylyn C Paz, John Mark A Caponpon, Ray Carlo S Silva, Geraldine Tamano, Vanessa Rojastook on the challenge and competed professionally overseas as one Philippine team through the financial support of their families.

Philippine Ambassador to Japan, Her Excellency Mylene J. Garcia-Albano congratulated the athletes for their significant win at the recent karate tournament during the team’s courtesy call on 09 January 2024. The Ambassador expressed her optimism that the recent international achievements of the athletes will encouragethem to continue to strive for excellence and serve as an inspiration to our countrymen and women.
