On International Women’s Day, Ambassador Garcia – Albano Encourages Women to Reach Their Full Potential

10 March 2023 – Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia – Albano was one of the guest speakers during the International Women’s Day event of Accenture Japan on 8 March 2023 in Tokyo, Japan. The Ambassador spoke to hundreds of women in attendance during the event, which was an internal event for the employees of Accenture Japan.
In her speech, associated with the main theme of the event, “Be without limits”, the Ambassador Garcia-Albano shared her life’s journey from her days at University until her current assignment as Philippine Ambassador to Japan. She shared that the International Women’s Day is a “time to hear stories of hope, of adventure, of opportunity, in many cases of perseverance and determination…. And, for a public servant, International Women’s Day is about looking for ways to inspire a new generation, convey the values and share lessons of prevailing over adversity, to help everyone reach their full potential.”
The event was attended by leaders of both Accenture Japan and Accenture Philippines. Mr. Atsushi Egawa, Representative Director and President Japan Country Managing Director, and Ms. Ambe Tierro, Country Managing Director and Lead of Technology Centers in the Philippines both greeted Ambassador Garcia-Albano on the stage. Filipino employees of the company were also present to join the celebration and to hear the speech of the Ambassador.
In the conclusion of her speech, Ambassador Garcia-Albano expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to share her story and to meet fellow women leaders. She stated that the event can be a start of future exchanges were Filipino women can work together to empower other kababayans in Japan.
