Philippine Festival ExeCom Donates to Marawi

12 March 2018 – The Philippine Embassy represented by Deputy Chief of Mission, Eduardo Martin R. Meñez, ceremonially received donations amounting to JPY 706,231.00 gathered during the Philippine Festival 2017 on behalf of Bishop Edwin dela Peña of the Roman Catholic Territorial Prelature of Marawi.

PFOC 2018-2019 ceremonially turnovers the cheque amounting to JPY 706,231.00 to DCM Meñez of the Philippine Embassy on behalf of the Prelature of Marawi.

The Embassy will remit the donations to the official bank account of the Prelature of Marawi to help in the reconstruction of the church and its surrounding areas.

The Philippine Festival is an annual event of the Filipino Community in Japan which aims to gather the over 250,000 Filipinos in Japan and to share Philippine culture and tradition to Japanese and foreign guests.

This year’s Philippine Festival will be held on 08 and 09 September 2018 at Hibiya Park, Tokyo with the theme “フィリピン祭り!素晴らしい!(Philippine Festival! Amazing!)
