09 September 2018 – His Excellency Ambassador Jose C. Laurel V led the turnover of Philippine Festival 2018’s donations to the Ministry of Environment represented by Honorable Tadahiko Ito, Vice State Minister for Environment of Japan. For the two days of festivities, members of the Filipino Community in Japan brought their old smart phones and gadgets to the Tokyo 2020 Medal Project Booth dedicated by the Philippine Festival. This is part of the Filipino Community’s modest contribution to their adopted home and a pledge to support Japan’s successful hosting of the Olympics in 2020 and the further strengthening of Philippines-Japan relations.
