Fiesta Filipinas – “Visita Iglesia”

The Philippine Embassy in Japan invites you to join a virtual tour of Iloilo for its first-ever Visita Iglesia in the Philippines on this episode of #Fiesta Filipinas on 27 March 2021, 4:00 p.m. (PH time/local time).

As a tradition, the Lenten season takes deep root in the role of faith in shaping the Filipino nation into what it is today, diverse yet inclusive; independent yet thrives in peaceful coexistence; and a nation that believes that understanding of all peoples is key to a just and humane society.

Iloilo is home to one of the four baroque churches inscribed by UNESCO as National Cultural Treasure of the Philippines, the Santo Tomas de Villanueva Parish Church, also known as Miagao Church. Through the virtual Visita Iglesia, bisitas (visitors) who will join #FiestaFilipinas have the opportunity to marvel at the beautiful architecture of our churches, see the fast-developing city of Iloilo, and discover the country’s journey to nation-building and its rich heritage.

This online event will be available at the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Facebook Page at https://m.facebook.com/dfaphl/

The project is organized by the Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Department of Tourism and National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
