New Chief Representative To JICA Philippines Reaffirms Unwavering Support To The Philippines

08 February 2022 – Incoming Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Philippine Office Mr. Takema Sakamoto called on Ambassador Jose C. Laurel V to inform of his designation starting March 2022.

The appointment of Mr. Sakamoto, who has been designated as Representative at the Beijing Office of the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF), Chief Representative of the JICA Iraq Office and JICA India Office, and Director General of the Middle East and Europe Department, and South Asia Department, places Japan’s high priority on the Philippines as one of its significant partners.

As Chief Representative of JICA Philippine Office, Mr. Sakamoto affirmed that he will continue to promote and foster bilateral relations between the Philippines and Japan through the basis of “mutual understanding and respect.”
