The Philippine Embassy Welcomes the Newly Elected Officers and New Members of the Association of Filipino Scholars in Tsukuba


The newly elected officers and new nembers of the Association of Filipino Scholars in Tsukuba (FAST) took their respective oaths at a ceremony held at the Siazon Hall of the Philippine Embassy on 11 April 2024.

Minister and Consul General Charmaine A. Serna-Chua swore in the new members and new officers of FAST led by its President, Mr. Bryan Apacionado. In her remarks, Con. Gen. Chua encouraged the scholars to pursue their dreams as their achievements will ultimately contribute to the country’s development. Meanwhile, Mr. Apacionado expressed his appreciation for the assistance and support of the Philippine Embassy for FAST’s projects in 2023.

The Association of Filipino Scholars in Tsukuba or FAST is a Filipino student organization based in Tsukuba University. It was formally established in 1988 and has around 200 members from current students and alumni worldwide. It undertakes projects such as promoting Philippine Culture and improving camaraderie among its members and alumni. FAST maintains a strong presence for the Philippines in the activities and programs of Tsukuba University.
