Senator Legarda Delivers Philippine Statement At 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (3WCDRR)

15 March 2015, Sendai – The Philippines calls on the international community to strengthen international cooperation and global partnership in disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM).

In the statement delivered by Her Excellency Senator Loren Legarda, Alternate Head of the Philippine Delegation to the 3rd United Nations World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (3WCDRR), “the Philippines calls on the international community to strengthen international cooperation, collaboration and global partnership to assist developing countries, particularly those in vulnerable situations, the least developed countries, small island developing states, landlocked countries and African countries, by providing them with enhanced means of implementation, through the provision of finance, technology transfer and capacity building in order for them to achieve a culture of resilience in all aspects.”

The UN conference is being held at the Sendai Conference Center, Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, 14-18 March 2015. Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman is the Head of the Philippine Delegation with Senator Loren Legarda as Alternate Head.
