Popularly known as the “Madz”, the acclaimed choral group serenaded guests with well-loved Filipino classics during the event.
The Madz concert series, to be held from 13 to 26 July in various cities across Japan, forms part of the Embassy’s commemorative activities for the 70th anniversary. The concert series is organized by the Min-On Concert Association in partnership with the Embassy and the All Japan Choral Association.
The concert series also commemorates Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino (Filipino Music Week), which celebrates and promotes the richness and diversity of Filipino music.
Widely-recognized as the Philippines’ premier choral group, the Madz was founded in 1963 by National Artist for Music, Professor Andrea O. Veneracion. Both the Madz and the Min-On Concert Association are celebrating their 63rd founding anniversary this year.
