Position Overview
The Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Tokyo is seeking a highly motivated and qualified professional to support the implementation of Philippine trade and investment promotion programs in Japan on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Counsellor and the PTIC Tokyo team in promoting Philippine trade and investment opportunities, developing business partnerships, and strengthening economic and commercial relations between the Philippines and Japan.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Currently residing and legally authorized to work in Japan
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized university
- Professional-level proficiency in Japanese and excellent command of English, both spoken and written
- Significant professional experience in corporate, business, trade, investment, or related fields; ten (10) or more years of relevant professional experience is preferred
- Strong business acumen and ability to identify trade and investment opportunities
- Strong network or demonstrated ability to build relationships with Japanese companies, industry groups, trade associations, and other stakeholders
- Excellent research, analytical, project management, presentation, and communication skills
- Good understanding of Japanese business culture and professional practices
- Proficiency in standard business software and digital tools
- Familiarity with Philippine business, trade, and investment opportunities is an advantage
- Proactive, results-oriented, well-organized, and able to work effectively in a small, collaborative office environment
Key Responsibilities
The Trade and Investment Expert will:
- Develop and support trade promotion, investment promotion, and industry cooperation initiatives between the Philippines and Japan
- Identify and engage prospective Japanese investors, business partners, and other relevant stakeholders
- Support market access and business development initiatives for Philippine products and services in Japan
- Establish and maintain relationships with Japanese companies, industry associations, government agencies, and other partner organizations
- Assist in organizing trade and investment missions, business matching activities, trade fairs, seminars, and other promotional events
- Coordinate meetings and activities involving visiting Philippine business delegations and government officials
- Conduct market and industry research and prepare reports, presentations, correspondence, and briefing materials
- Represent PTIC Tokyo at relevant business events, seminars, meetings, and conferences, as required
- Provide Japanese-English translation and interpretation support, as needed
- Perform other trade and investment promotion-related duties that may be assigned by the Commercial Counsellor
Employment Details
The position is full-time and based in Tokyo, Japan. The successful candidate should be available to commence employment as soon as possible.
Employment will be subject to a specified initial contract period, with the applicable terms and conditions to be discussed with the successful candidate.
