Japan-based Filipino Photographer Highlights Beauty of Tama Region in Local Art Exhibition
Mr. Francisco “Nico” Moreno, Jr. with his photographic works entitled 深雪 (Miyuki) — “A Snowy Tokyo Morning” during the Tama Art Meets All – Center line art festival Tokyo 2026 opening day on 09 September 2026 at Koganei Miyaji Gakki Hall, Koganei, Tokyo.
The Philippine Embassy in Japan extended its support to Japan-based Filipino photographer, Mr. Francisco “Nico” Moreno, Jr., during the opening of the Tama Art Meets All – Center line art festival Tokyo 2026 at Koganei Miyaji Gakki Hall, Koganei, Tokyo.
Mr. Moreno’s photographic works entitled 深雪 (Miyuki) — “A Snowy Tokyo Morning” features eight (8) black-and-white photographs shot on 35 millimeter film during a single morning’s walk from Tachikawa Station to Showa Kinen Park on 08 February 2026 in heavy snowfall.
The self-developed photographs capture the natural surroundings and everyday life in the Tama region in the western part of Tokyo.

“Mr. Moreno’s photographs provide the audience a glimpse of the beauty of the Tama region, as seen through the lens of a Filipino artist – an homage to the longstanding and vibrant relations between the Philippines and Japan, especially through artistic endeavors such as the Tama Art Meets All exhibition, as we celebrate this year 70 years of friendship between our two countries,” underscored Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano in a statement on Mr. Moreno’s exhibition.
Visitors immerse in the photographic works of Mr. Moreno at the Tama Art Meets All – Center line art festival Tokyo 2026.
Mr. Moreno is also the founder of Filipino watch brand, Ibarra Watches, and is the only Filipino artist participating in the exhibition. He is joined by local artists with ties to the Tama region.
The Tama Art Meets All – Center line art festival Tokyo 2026 runs until 13 September 2026.
