Philippine Embassy Joins Women’s Month Celebration
Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano led the Embassy’s celebration of National Women’s Month 2026, with its personnel wearing purple to commemorate the event.
TOKYO, 16 March 2026 – The Philippine Embassy in Japan joins the observance of National Women’s Month Celebration, with the theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”
The Embassy reaffirms its commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women, in line with the Philippines’ Gender and Development agenda. The Embassy fosters safe, inclusive, and enabling spaces where women can participate fully in public life and sustainable development, and stands ready to support initiatives that advance women’s rights, leadership, and protection from all forms of discrimination and violence.
This commitment is reflected in the Embassy’s workforce, where women play a central role in delivering responsive public service. As of March 2026, 44 of the Embassy’s 82-personnel complement are women, reflecting its success in achieving gender parity in the workplace.
