TOKYO, 28 October 2026 – Filipina tennis star Alexandra “Alex” Eala delivered a dominant performance in her opening match at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, defeating British wildcard Mika Stojsavljevic in straight sets, 6-1, and 6-2.

The Philippine Embassy in Japan, led by Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano, turned out in full force to cheer on Eala as she proudly represented the Philippines on the international sporting stage. With her decisive opening victory, Eala advanced to the Round of 16 of the prestigious WTA 500 tournament, where she is scheduled to face Australia’s Talia Gibson.

During her post-match interview, Eala expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the enthusiastic support of her Filipino and international fans, including the local community in Japan.
