Philippine Ambassador Joins Asia Pacific Ladies Friendship Society New Year’s Gathering
Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano joined members of the Asia Pacific Ladies Friendship Society Inc. (ALFS) at ALFS’ annual New Year’s Party on 10 February 2026 at the Meiji Kinenkan in Minato City, Tokyo. A highlight of the event was a photo exhibit presenting the recipients of the 2025 ALFS donations to each member country. The donations were raised during the Charity Bazaar organized by the Society in April 2025.
For the Philippines, the beneficiary was the Kalakasan Migrant Women’s Empowerment Center, a non-profit organization assisting Filipino migrant women and victims of domestic abuse. A cultural performance showcasing Japanese traditional musical instruments koto and shakuhachi was also featured during the event.
