The Philippine Madrigal Singers Share Essential Techniques to Filipino Chorale Groups in Tokyo
Fresh from the success of the Philippine Christmas Concert at Minato City’s Akasaka Civic Center, thePhilippine Madrigal Singers met with members of the Filipino Chorale Groups in Tokyo for a workshop hosted by the Philippine Embassy with its Sentro Rizal-Tokyo on 21 December 2023.
Led by Choral conductor and Choirmaster, Mark Anthony A. Carpio, the Madrigal Singers shared essential vocal and singing techniques to more than 30 participants. The 2-hour workshop included warm-up and breathing exercises, vocal register and placement, blending, and harmony, among others. To end the event, the Philippine Madrigal Singers beautifully sang a highly requested song “Ikaw” by composer Louie Ocampo and George Canseco.
Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano expressed her appreciation to the Philippine Madrigal for sharing their time and expertise with the participants who are selflessly serving the parishioners of the various Catholic churches in Tokyo.
