Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Japan
Ambassador JOSE C. LAUREL V presented his credentials to His Majesty Emperor Akihito on June 9, 2017 as Philippine Ambassador to Japan. A native of Batangas, he spent part of his childhood in Japan. His father, JOSE S. LAUREL III, was the Philippine Ambassador to Japan from 1966-1971. Together with other illustrious members of the Laurel family, he has devoted his life to promoting cooperation, exchanges and mutual appreciation between the Filipino and Japanese peoples. He is married with four children.
