Philippine Embassy Wins ASEAN Committee in Tokyo Bowling Tournament 2012
The Philippine Embassy triumphed as the overall champion of this year’s ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Bowling Tournament held on 24 March 2012 at the Tokyo Port Bowl. This annual sports event was organized this time by the Embassy of Cambodia.
The 7-member Philippine Embassy team bested the other nine ASEAN Embassies by garnering a total pinfall of 3,200 for three games. They were followed by the Singapore Embassy team at second place with a total pinfall of 3,132 and the Embassy of Malaysia team at third with 2,884.
H.E. Ambassador Manuel M. Lopez was second runner-up in the Ambassadors’ Category. In the Men’s Individual Category, Mr. Leopoldo Orines was second runner-up while in the Women’s Individual Category, Ms. Marianita T. Llenos was first runner-up.
The championship trophy for the Philippine Embassy was accepted by Ambassador Lopez. The Philippine Embassy team was also overall winner in 2010. This year’s line-up is composed of Ambassador Manuel M. Lopez, Consul Christian L. De Jesus, Mr. Lawrence V. Cuevas, Mr. Leopoldo G. Orines, Mr. Lopito G. Orines, Mr. Mars Zafra, and Ms. Marianita T. Llenos.
