Philippine Embassy hosts UP VINTA Learning Caravan for Filipinos in Japan

TOKYO, 25 May 2025 – As a follow-up to the visit of the University of the Philippines Open University to Tokyo on 10 April 2025, the Philippine Embassy hosted the Learning Caravan for Filipinos in Japan under the University of the Philippines’ Ventures for International and Transformative Agenda (VINTA) Program at the chancery’s Multi-Purpose Hall.

During his welcome remarks on behalf of Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano, Labor Attaché Ramon Lamberto C. Pastrana highlighted that the UP VINTA Program represents the Embassy’s commitment to lifelong learning, career growth, and reintegration in the Philippines by helping Filipinos abroad prepare for a better and brighter future through upskilling and reskilling courses online offered by the program.

The UP VINTA contingent was led by UP President, Atty. Angelo C. Jimenez, who was previously assigned as labor attaché at the Philippine Embassy, and UPOU Chancellor, Dr. Joane V. Serrano.

Also present were Acting Consul General Mary Joy B. Ramirez, and Welfare Officer Geronico M. Herrera.

More than 80 Filipinos, as well as Japanese nationals who were interested in learning more about the program, attended the Learning Caravan which included a consultation and registration session for prospective enrollees under UP VINTA.
