TOKYO, 21 November 2025 – To further expand its cultural education series under Sentro Rizal-Tokyo, and as part of its public diplomacy work, the Philippine Embassy welcomed students from Kudan Secondary School on 14 November 2025 for a cultural presentation, and consultation on the students’ Philippine promotions project.
During the school’s visit to the Embassy, the students were immersed in the Philippines’ rich culture and traditions, heritage and tourist sites, through interactive sessions, including a Filipino language lesson, in which the students actively participated.
The activity also served as a consultation session where the students presented their respective groups’ promotions plans on the Philippines as part of the school’s “Kudan Expo” international fair in 2026. The project, which is a result of two months of research work, provided various innovative approaches to highlight the best of the Philippines through its cultural treasures, natural wonders as well as traditional music, dances and textiles.

“I was pleased to learn of the efforts of the Kudan Secondary School students to showcase the best of the Philippines through their school project. As young members of the Japanese public, they offer fresh perspectives that can help enrich the Embassy’s cultural diplomacy, public outreach, and tourism promotion initiatives,” Philippine Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano remarked following the visit.
The Kudan Secondary School students, assisted by their English teacher, Mr. Daichi Uomoto, were also given a special tour of Sentro Rizal-Tokyo, and were invited to make use of the collection of literary and other materials on the Philippines in further developing their cultural promotions plans, in preparation for the school’s international fair next year.
