TOKYO, 3 June 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Japan, led by Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano, welcomed and conducted a briefing for the Japanese delegation to the 77th Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) on 2 June 2025. The delegation, composed of university students from across Japan, was received at the Embassy as part of their preparatory activities for the upcoming study tour in the Philippines.
The Embassy provided an overview of recent developments in Philippines-Japan relations, and basic information about the Philippines, including its geography, government, culture, and key sectors. Embassy officials also engaged with the students in an interactive discussion on regional and global issues, and shared insights into Philippine society, culture, and diplomacy.
“The Philippine Embassy remains steadfast in its efforts to strengthen the bonds between our governments and peoples, including through educational and cultural exchanges. We look forward to working closely with our Japanese counterparts to provide more opportunities for young people like yourselves to explore and engage with the Philippines,” Ambassador Garcia-Albano said.
The Japan-America Student Conference, founded in 1934, is the oldest student-led exchange program between Japan and the United States. This is the first time that Japan’s delegation will conduct a study tour in the Philippines during the pre-Conference program.

Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano shared her insights and experience as the first female ambassador to Japan.
