Philippine Ambassador to Japan Receives the Executive Vice President of the Japan Foundation
Philippine Ambassador to Japan, His Excellency Jose C. Laurel V, received Dr. Yuri Sato, Executive Vice President of the Japan Foundation, during the latter’s courtesy call and meeting with the former on 06 December 2021 at the Philippine Embassy.
Dr. Sato, who oversees the Foundation’s Japanese Studies and Intellectual Exchange Programs and the Asia Center, reported on the latest developments under her division over the years. In the Philippines, the Japan Foundation, Manila founded in 1996 is active in the areas of Arts and Cultural Exchange, Japanese-Language Education, and Japanese Studies and Intellectual Exchange Programs.
Ambassador Laurel expressed his appreciation to the Foundation for its important role in the Philippines – Japan Relations. He stressed the importance of continuous education for language teachers as formidable leaders in advancing the cultural relations between the two countries.
The Japan Foundation is a special legal entity established in 1972 under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, with programs focused on cultivating friendship between Japan and other countries through culture, language, and dialogue.
