Philippine Ambassador Joins First Asia Pacific Conference of Filipino Mechanical Engineers in Tokyo

TOKYO, 28 November 2025 – Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano attended the First Asia Pacific Conference of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo on 22 November 2025, which brought together 150 Filipino mechanical engineers from across the Asia Pacific region.
The landmark gathering strengthened regional collaboration among Filipino engineers and highlighted the expanding international presence of PSME. New officers of PSME’s Japan, Brunei, Indonesia, and Singapore chapters were also sworn in during the event, underscoring the organization’s growing networks and leadership across the region.
The conference was held after the three-day Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) oral examinations, conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and hosted by the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo from 19 to 21 November 2025. A total of 40 candidates took the PME oral test—an initiative that forms part of the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to elevate the profile, qualifications, and global competitiveness of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

In her inspirational message, Ambassador Garcia-Albano commended the conference participants for their commitment to excellence and continuous professional development. She emphasized the vital contribution of Filipino engineers to national progress, stating:
“By bringing back these skills, insights, and innovations, you directly contribute to improving the lives of our countrymen, advancing industries, and supporting nation-building,” Ambassador Garcia-Albano remarked.
The Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that empower overseas Filipino professionals and enhance their capacity to contribute to the country’s development.
