PH Foreign Service Posts in Japan Prepare for 2026 in 5th Coordination Meeting

Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano (seated, center) chaired the 5th Coordination Meeting among Philippine Foreign Service Posts in Japan at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo on 15 October 2025 to jumpstart preparations for the 70th anniversary of the normalization of Philippines-Japan diplomatic relations in 2026, and consolidate progress on operational matters.

The meeting welcomed newly-appointed Consul General in Nagoya Shirlene C. Mananquil (seated, 4th from left), who assumed her duties in June 2025. The delegation of the Philippine Consulate General in Osaka was led by Vice Consul Christy Fe A. Conta (seated, 2nd from left).

The Philippine Foreign Service Posts in Japan gathered updates on the conclusion of the Philippines’ successful participation at the Osaka World Expo, and discussed action points in preparation for various activities related to the 70th anniversary next year. The meeting also identified steps to harmonize procedures and requirements to further enhance the delivery of consular services.
