Mobile Passport/Consular Services and Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) Registration in Okinawa
The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo deployed a joint consular and OAV team to Okinawa on 05-06 October 2012, as part of the Embassy’s continuing commitment to reach out to Filipino nationals living outside the Tokyo area. The mission was held at the Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Ginowan City, Okinawa Prefecture.
There are approximately 1,640 registered Filipinos living in Okinawa Prefecture.
A total of 143 Filipinos availed of passport services, 3 availed of notarial services and 90 applied for OAV registration.
The consular team was composed of Vice Consul Ryan Pondoc, Ms. Janice Kathlene Lobien, Ms. Annabelle Sagum, Ms. Veronica Bernardino and Mr. Mars Zafra. The OAV team was composed of Consul Christian De Jesus and Mr. Mark Akim.
The Embassy coordinated and worked with the Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Okinawa for this mission.
The last consular mission to Okinawa was held on 17 March 2012.
