Mobile Passport Services and OAV Registration in Morioka

After a successful outreach mission in Okinawa on March 17, the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo sent a joint consular and OAV team to Morioka on March 31, 2012 as part of the Embassy’s commitment to reach out to Filipinos living outside of the Tokyo area.

Instrumental to the success of the outreach mission were local community leaders Ms. Mari Asanuma, Ms. Cecilia Nishimura, Ms. Mercy Sasakawa, Ms. Emmie Nakajima and Ms. Gina Yamamoto. With the help of these leaders, eighty-two (82) Filipinos availed of passport renewal services, eight (8) availed of notarial services, while eighty-eight (88) applied for Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) registration.

The joint consular and OAV team from the Embassy was composed of Consul Christian L. De Jesus, Mr. Emmanuel E. Austria, Mr. Lawrence V. Cuevas, Mr. Francis R. Villamin, Mr. Reynaldo Cahayag. Jr., Mr. Reynaldo B. Damgo, and Mr. Mars Valery R. Zafra.

The services were rendered inside the Aiina Center, a technologically-advanced and environment-friendly multi-purpose center of Iwate Prefecture. Morioka City is the capital of Iwate.
