Five Philippine Embassy Personnel in Tokyo are Recipients of 2016 DFA Awards
Five (5) personnel of the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo were recipients of this year’s Department Level Awards given annually by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in celebration of the DFA Day held on 23 June 2016. The awards were presented in simple rites after the flag raising ceremony at the Embassy today, 22 August 2016.
Ms. Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio, Charge d’ Affaires, a.i. of the Embassy, who is also an awardee (Loyalty Award, 20 years) presented the awards to the following: Attaché Rodel F. Lomibao (Loyalty Award, 25 years); Mr. Teody N. Custodio (Loyalty Award, 15 years); Ms. Okada (Outstanding Employee Award and Loyalty Award, 10 years); and Attaché Diane Merce B. Bartolome (Assistance-to-Nationals Award). Assisting CDA Tirol-Ignacio at the presentation of awards was Consul Dominic Xavier M. Imperial, Administrative Officer of the Embassy, who presented the loyalty award to CDA Tirol-Ignacio.
The Loyalty Award is given to those who had dedicated long years of loyal and committed service to the Department of Foreign Affairs. CDA Tirol-Ignacio and Attaché Lomibao received their silver loyalty pins while Mr. Custodio and Ms. Okada received their bronze silver pins. All Loyalty Awardees also received their certificates and cash incentives.
Ms. Bartolome was awarded the Assistance-to-National Award (ATN Award) in recognition of her exemplary performance, selfless service, and steadfast participation in responding to the various ATN cases in Tokyo. She joined the Embassy in 2013 and was assigned as Consular Assistant and later as ATN Officer and Attaché, in addition to her regular duties. Ms. Bartolome is among the only four (4) ATN Awardees (Individual Category) for 2016. For this award, she received a plaque and a cash incentive.
Ms. Okada was awarded the 2016 Outstanding Employee Award in recognition of her loyalty, dedication, commitment and exemplary performance of duties in the Embassy thereby inspiring her colleagues to strive for excellence. Ms. Okada is among the 56 DFA Outstanding Employee Awardees for 2016. For this award, she received a plaque and a cash incentive.
