Philippine Embassy Joins Minato City’s Stamp Rally 2025

Participants of the Minato City Stamp Rally actively participated in an interactive game matching Filipino dishes with Japanese counterparts.

TOKYO, 20 February 2025 – As part of its commemoration of National Arts Month, the Philippine Embassy once again participated in Minato City’s annual Stamp Rally on 20 February 2025, welcoming around 40 Minato City residents eager to learn more about the Philippines.

During their visit, participants were introduced to the culture and traditions of the Philippines, with presentations covering its people, cuisine, bilateral relations with Japan, and must-visit tourism destinations. A special segment was also dedicated to children, featuring a video on the country’s endemic wildlife, traditional games, and popular snacks.

To enhance the experience, an interactive game challenged participants to match iconic Filipino dishes with their closest Japanese counterparts, highlighting the shared flavors and culinary influences between the two countries.

A curated selection of Philippine cultural items and artworks were also displayed inside the venue.

At the end of the program, guests received a special “omiyage” from the Embassy, which included banana chips from the Philippines, a notebook with Tnalak cover, and tourism brochures. They also had the opportunity to collect Embassy stamps, a key feature of the Stamp Rally initiative.

“The Philippine Embassy is delighted and honored to take part in Minato City’s annual Stamp Rally, an initiative that brings communities together through cultural exchange. We are grateful for the opportunity to introduce the Philippines to more Minato residents and further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Philippines and Japan,” Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano stated.

The Minato Stamp Rally is an annual program organized by the Minato City Government as an opportunity for the residents to familiarize themselves with other countries with the goal of developing mutual understanding and fostering people-to-people exchanges.

Minato City is one of Tokyo’s 23 wards, home to international businesses, cultural institutions, and many foreign diplomatic missions, including the Philippine Embassy. END
