Philippine Embassy in Tokyo Receives Recognition From Davao City in the Field of Business Development
15 March 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, Japan was recognized by the City Government of Davao during its “Pasidungog: Garbo sa Dabaw” event held last 15 March 2024 at SM Lanang Premier’s SMX Convention Center.
The Embassy was awarded for its support and contribution to Davao City’s progress in the field of Business Development. It was nominated by the Davao City Investment Promotion Center for its assistance in facilitating the conduct of Davao City’s Investment and Tourism Roadshow in Osaka and Tokyo last 24 – 27 April 2023.
During the event, Mayor Sebastian Duterte expressed his gratitude to individuals, companies, and organizations who have contributed and made an impact to the programs and growth of Davao City in various sectors.
Through a video message, Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano delivered an acceptance speech on behalf of all the awardees. She extended her appreciation to Davao City for creating an environment that fosters growth, innovation, and shared success.
“This recognition, “Pasidungog: Garbo sa Dabaw Award,” serves not only as a milestone but also as a reminder of the responsibility that rests on our shoulder,” Ambassador Garcia-Albano remarked. “It reminds us that our work does not stop here but continues as we strive for even greater heights of success, sustainability, and inclusive development for Davao City. Let it be a call to action for every one of us to remain steadfast in our commitment to contributing to our city’s legacy of growth and prosperity.”
The “Pasidungog: Garbo sa Davao Award” honors the efforts of private individuals, companies, and organizations that contribute to the programs and initiatives to the City’s business development, cooperative development, solid waste management, public safety, disaster and crisis response, social services, health, and education, and tourism and the arts, among others.
