Japan-based Filipino Singing Group Performs at Uta Fest

Syncho, a Japan-based Filipino singing group, captivated the audience with their renditions of international hits at Uta Fest in Yokohama.
TOKYO, 28 August 2025 – Syncho, a Japan-based Filipino singing group, was featured during the showcase category of the “Yokohama International Choral Festival” segment of “Uta Fest” – Japan International Choral Festival held at the Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall.
Composed of Filipino working professionals Roanne Fernandez, RD Fernandez, Alex Alano, and Sarce L Junior, Syncho charmed the audience with their rendition of international hits.
“Syncho’s performance at Uta Fest reminds us that music is part of the legacy that Filipinos carry with them wherever they go. Their voices reflect not only individual talent but also our collective identity, making them true cultural ambassadors of the Philippines,” said Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano in a separate statement.
Formed just two years ago out of a shared love for music, Syncho debuted at the Philippine Festival in Yoyogi Park in 2024.
Now in its second year, Uta Fest, organized by the International Choral Organization of Tokyo (ICOT), gathered singers from across the globe for a three-day musical celebration from 22 to 24 August 2025. The festival also featured distinguished Filipino conductor John August Pamintuan, who served as a panelist in a symposium on choral music.
