Visa-Free Entry for Temporary Visits

The following guidelines provide information on the entry of foreigners as temporary visitors to the Philippines without a visa.

Temporary visits refer to periods of stay generally NOT exceeding 59 days, for purposes such as attending conferences, company meetings, workshops/seminars; medical treatment; and those trips of a personal nature for pleasure, such as tourism/sightseeing, visiting relatives and/or friends, recreation or amusement.

Foreign minor children below fifteen (15) years of age travelling to the Philippines alone, or unaccompanied by either parent, are subject to restrictions under Philippine Immigration law. Please refer to the guidelines on the Waiver of Exclusion Ground (click for more information).

(FSC-90-13) 30-Day Visa-Free Entry for Temporary Visit for Selected Foreign Nationals

Nationals of the countries listed below who are traveling to the Philippines for business or tourism purposes are allowed to enter the Philippines without visas for a stay not exceeding thirty (30) days, provided that: (1) they hold valid tickets for their return journey to port of origin or to their next port of destination; and (2) their passports are valid for a period of at least six (6) months beyond their contemplated period of stay in the Philippines.

* By virtue of the Philippine Bureau of Immigration’s announcement (http://www.immigration.gov.ph/faqs/travel-req), nationals of the countries marked with an asterisk or asterisks may be admitted into the Philippines even with passports of less than six (6) months validity from date of arrival.

** Nationals of Israel and Brazil are visa-free for a period of fifty-nine (59) days from entry, pursuant to existing bilateral agreements with the Philippines.

Upon arrival in the Philippines, citizens of the above-listed countries who wish to stay longer than thirty days can apply for an extension at the nearest Bureau of Immigration office. Alternatively, they can file an application for a temporary visitor’s visa at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo’s Consular Section prior to departure from Japan.

All other foreign travelers with passports issued by countries not listed above need to secure an appropriate visa before traveling to the Philippines.

(CIR-1077-OCA-2025/FSC 2025-019 and FSC 2025-020) –  New Philippine Visa Policies for Indian Nationals

Effective 08 June 2025, the following visa policies applicable to Indian nationals

  • Indian nationals may enter the Philippines without a visa for a non-extendible and non-convertible period of 14 days for tourism purposes, upon presenting a passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the contemplated stay, confirmed hotel accommodation / booking, proof of financial capacity, and return or onward ticket to the next country of destination.
  • Indian nationals holding valid and current American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore or United Kingdom (AJACSSUK) visas or residence permits may enter the Philippines without a visa for a non-extendible period of 30 days for tourism, upon presenting a passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the contemplated stay, and return or onward ticket to the next country of destination.

These updated visa-free privileges for Indian nationals may be availed of at any Philippine port of entry, and are not convertible to a visa-based stay or other admission status categories. Indian nationals must also not have any derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in order to be admitted into the country without a visa.

Indian nationals transiting in the Philippines or entering the country for long-term visits and non-tourism activities are required to apply for an appropriate Philippine visa at a Philippine Embassy or Consulate in their country of origin, place of legal residence, or any country that requires entry visas for Indian nationals.

(FSC-157-2016/SEC.I) – 7-Day Visa-Free Entry for Temporary Visit (Tourism/Business) for Citizens of British National Overseas (BNO) and Macao-Portuguese

The following are allowed to enter the Philippines for pleasure and recreation purposes (as tourists or to visit friends or relatives), and/or business (of commercial, industrial or professional character) of a temporary nature without a visa for a stay not exceeding seven (7) days, provided they hold valid tickets for their return journey to port of origin or next port of destination and their passports are valid for a period of at least six (6) months beyond the contemplated period of stay:

  1. Holders of British National Overseas (BNO) passports
  2. Holders of Macao-Portuguese passports

(FSC-157-2016/SEC.I) – 7-Day Visa-Free Entry for Temporary Visit (Tourism Purpose only) for Citizens of the People’s Republic of China Passports

Holders of People’s Republic of China passports are allowed to enter the Philippines for temporary visit without a visa for a stay not exceeding seven (7) days, provided that:

  1. The purpose of their stay is for pleasure and recreation ONLY (as tourists or to visit friends or relatives);
  2. They hold valid tickets for their return journey to port of origin or next port of destination;
  3. Their passports are valid for a period of at least six (6) months beyond the contemplated period of stay; and
  4. They are holders of either a valid Australian, Canadian, Japanese, Schengen, or US visa.

(FSC-157-2016/SEC.I) – 14-Day Visa-Free Entry for Temporary Visit (Tourism/Business)

The following are allowed to enter the Philippines for pleasure and recreation purposes (as tourists or to visit friends or relatives), and/or business (of commercial, industrial or professional character) of a temporary nature without a visa for a stay not exceeding fourteen (14) days, provided they hold valid tickets for their return journey to port of origin or next port of destination and their passports are valid for a period of at least six (6) months beyond the contemplated period of stay:

  1. Holders of Hong Kong Special Administrative (SAR) passports
  2. Holders of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) passports

(FSC-137-12) – Visa-Free Entry for Foreign Nationals with Emergency Passports

Temporary visitors from countries whose nationals may enter the Philippines visa-free under E.O.408 (listed above) holding Emergency Passports issued temporarily by their own governments, may be allowed entry without a visa, provided that their emergency passport is valid for at least 6 months and is to be used from the country of origin to the Philippines and back, and that an outbound ticket can be presented at the port of entry in the Philippines.
