Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano Spearheads the Celebration of the National Women’s Month
26 March 2023 – Philippine Ambassador-designate Mylene J. Garcia-Albano led the closing ceremonies for the culmination of the month-long celebration of National Women’s Month by highlighting the achievements of the Philippines in addressing gender parity.
Being the first Filipina Ambassador in Japan, she further asserted her commitment to pursue more activities in support of women empowerment. In closing she said, “Bilang inyong kaunaunahang babeng kinatawan ng Embahada ng Pilipinas dito sa bansang Japan, makakaasa kayo na patuloy nating susuportahan ang mga gawaing magpapatunay na Babae ka, at hindi Babae lang!”
Moreover, the Philippine Ambassador thanked the Migrant Workers Office – Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (MWO-OWWA) for organizing the seminar on “Mental Health Matter” as well as other seminars and trainings for Women’s Month.
