Ambassador Meets the Philippine Embassy’s Incoming and Outgoing Consuls General and Political Officers
Ambassador José C. Laurel V presided over a transition meeting last April 17 between the Embassy’s outgoing Consul General and Political Officer and their respective successors.
Ambassador Laurel welcomed Minister Robespierre L. Bolivar, who will take over the post of Consul General vice Minister Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio; and Minister Evangeline Ong Jimenez-Ducrocq, who will assume the position of Political Officer in place of Minister Josel Francisco Ignacio.
Minister Bolivar and Minister Jimenez-Ducrocq arrived in Tokyo on April 16.
For their part, Consul General Tirol-Ignacio and Minister Ignacio are completing their six-year tour of duty in Tokyo on April 24. They are returning to Manila to assume new posts at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Joining Ambassador Laurel in welcoming the new officials and bidding their predecessors farewell were Deputy Chief of Missions Eduardo M.R. Meñez and 1st Secretary and Administrative Officer Leah Victoria C. Rodriguez. END
