Ambassador Laurel Visits Machimura Farms, One of Hokkaido’s Leading Companies in the Dairy Industry

Ambassador Jose C. Laurel, accompanied by Minister for Political Affairs Evangeline Ong Jimenez Ducrocq, and Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Hokkaido Ken Tobe, called on Mr. Hitoshi Machimura, who guided them around the Machimura Farms outside of Sapporo, to observe the facilities and exchange views on the dairy and agriculture sectors. Ambassador Laurel stressed how the Philippines is keen on attracting investments to improve its agri-business and food processing sectors, key to countryside development and to poverty alleviation, a priority of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
