Celebrating Filipino Language and Culture with Professor Michiko Yamashita

Maraming Salamat, thank you very much, Professor Michiko Yamashita, for visiting the Philippine Embassy in Japan, and sharing your latest initiatives in promoting the Filipino language, as well as Philippine culture and heritage to the Japanese audiences.
During the visit, Professor Yamashita donated her Filipino language textbook for Sentro Rizal-Tokyo.
Professor Yamashita is one of Japan’s foremost experts on the Filipino language, having taught at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS). She has written, among other works, a Filipino-Japanese dictionary whose latest edition is scheduled to be launched in 2026, in time for the 70th Anniversary of the Normalization of Philippines-Japan Diplomatic Relations.
