Minato City’s “Markets Around The World” Exhibition Features Philippine Sari-sari Store and Vigan Heritage Site

The “Markets Around the World” International Cultural Exhibition takes place from 14 to 28 September 2026 at Tokyo Midtown Galleria, Minato City.
TOKYO, 17 September 2026 – The iconic Filipino sari-sari store (neighborhood variety store) and the historic city of Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre site, are currently on display at the “Markets Around the World” Minato International Cultural Exhibition at the Tokyo Midtown Galleria in Minato City.
The exhibition features photographs and displays showcasing vibrant markets around the world and the local communities that sustain them. The Philippine entries were sourced from the official promotional collection of the Department of Tourism (DOT) of the Philippines, coordinated through the Office of the Tourism Attaché in Tokyo.

The historic city of Vigan is featured in the “Markets Around the World” Minato International Cultural Exhibition at Tokyo Midtown Galleria in Minato City.
Organized by Minato City, the international exhibition brings together entries from 18 participating embassies and international organizations, highlighting the diversity of market culture across different countries. Aside from the Philippines, the exhibit features photos of markets in Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, Cyprus, Ecuador, Eritrea, Finland, France, Ghana, Guatemala, Hungary, Lesotho, Morocco, Pakistan, Portugal, Serbia, and Slovakia.

The Philippines is among 18 countries participating in “Markets Around the World” Minato International Cultural Exhibition at Tokyo Midtown Galleria in Minato City.
Through its participation, the Philippines offers visitors a glimpse into the warmth of everyday Filipino community life represented by the sari-sari store and the country’s rich cultural heritage embodied by the historic streets and architecture of Vigan.
The “Markets Around the World” exhibition is free to the public and runs until 28 September 2026 on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Tokyo Midtown Galleria in Minato City.
