Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano hosted a reception for the US-Philippines Society (USPHS) Trilateral Conference on 12 February 2026 at the International House of Japan in Tokyo.

The USPHS is a private, non-partisan organization dedicated to strengthening the long-standing partnership between the Philippines and the United States by convening leaders from government, business, academia, and civil society to advance dialogue and practical cooperation.

The Ambassador welcomed USPHS Co-Chairs Mr. Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and Ambassador John D. Negroponte, together with members of the USPHS Board of Directors and representatives from the business and policy communities.

Ambassador Garcia-Albano delivered welcome remarks at a reception hosted by the Philippine Embassy for the US-Philippines Society on 12 February 2026 in Tokyo, Japan.

In her welcome remarks, Ambassador Garcia-Albano underscored the importance of people-to-people ties in sustaining partnerships.

“Today’s exchanges reminded us that while the strategic environment may be complex and fast-moving, the strength of our partnerships ultimately rests on people—on trust built over time, on relationships nurtured through regular engagement, and on the willingness to listen to one another across sectors and perspectives,” she said.

She further highlighted the expanding scope of the Philippines-Japan-US trilateral cooperation, stating “Whether we are talking about maritime cooperation, economic resilience, disaster preparedness, or emerging areas such as digital cooperation, energy security, and supply chains, there is a growing recognition that working together makes us all more effective.”

The USPHS Trilateral Conference in Tokyo immediately followed the Society’s engagements in Manila, where they had the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
