Philippine Embassy Welcomes Binibining Pilipinas – International 2024 Myrna Esguerra

TOKYO, 16 November 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Japan, led by Deputy Chief of Mission Christian L. De Jesus, welcomed Miss Myrna Esguerra, Binibining Pilipinas-International 2024 and the Philippines’ representative to the Miss International 2025 pageant, during her courtesy call on 11 November 2025.
“On behalf of Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano, we would like to convey our full support to you, as the Philippines’ bet to the Miss International 2025 competition. You exude beauty, intelligence, grace, and confidence, and we are optimistic that you will perform excellently in the pageant and represent the best of the Philippines,” stated Deputy Chief of Mission during the courtesy call.
Miss Esguerra shared her advocacies during the courtesy call, including raising awareness on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and encouraging tangible actions toward their attainment.

Deputy Chief of Mission De Jesus highlighted the 70th Anniversary of the Normalization of Philippines-Japan Diplomatic Relations in 2026, and expressed hope that Miss Esguerra would note the milestone celebration in her various engagements, especially in implementing initiatives to further strengthen people-to-people ties and cultural exchanges between the Philippines and Japan.
Miss Esguerra, who represented the province of Abra – the first in the history of Binibining Pilipinas, expressed her commitment to helping the Embassy promote the Philippines in the host country, as well as to support the Embassy’s programs in empowering and uplifting the Filipino Community and in deepening Philippines-Japan friendship. She was accompanied by members of the Filipino Community, including Mr. Free Barbusa and representatives of the Philippine Eagles Club-Tokyo during the Embassy visit.

The Miss International 2025 pageant will be held on 27 November 2025 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Shibuya. The Philippines holds the distinction of having the most number of winners in the history of Miss International, with six titleholders, from Ms. Gemma Cruz-Araneta in 1964 to Ms. Kylie Versoza in 2016.
