TOKYO, 1 October 2025 – As part of the Philippine Embassy’s continuing efforts to promote Philippine culture and heritage, agricultural products and creative industries to the local and international communities, and in the spirit of international cooperation, the Embassy participated in the 2025 Global Festa Japan organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japan NGO Center for International Cooperation (JANIC) on 27-28 September 2025 at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building in Tokyo.
The Embassy showcased a wide array of the Philippines’ best agricultural products, including bananas – Japan’s no. 1 – courtesy of the Embassy’s Agriculture Section; as well as food and fashion pieces made of coconut from the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Tokyo, and cultural items and tourism materials from the Embassy’s Tourism Section.
“The Philippine Embassy is pleased to once again join Global Festa Japan, inviting everyone to rediscover the Philippines through our tropical fruits, coconut products, handicraft, and tourism offerings, while reaffirming our commitment to global cooperation and shared progress,” remarked Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano.
Event attendees, both young and old, flocked to the Embassy booth to view the cultural exhibit, inquire into the best places to visit in the Philippines, and have a taste of the much-sought after Philippine fruits and food products.

A Japanese visitor at the Philippine Embassy booth at the 2025 Global Festa Japan exclaimed he is the number one fan of Philippine bananas.
Global Festa Japan unites public and private partners each year to promote international cooperation and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the Embassy taking part as a regular participant.
