Sixteen Young Filipinos embarks on month-long voyage aboard the “Nippon Maru” for the SSEAYP
7 November 2024 – The Philippine Embassy, represented by First Secretary and Consul Mary Joy B. Ramirez, was honored to send off the Filipino delegation of the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) today, 7 November 2024, at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal.
Sixteen young Filipinos are embarking on this month-long voyage aboard the “Nippon Maru,” which will take them through Japan, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Launched by the Japanese government in 1974, SSEAYP continues to foster regional unity and cross-cultural understanding among the youth from Southeast Asia and Japan.
This year’s program marks SSEAYP’s return to the seas, resuming the tradition after its last journey in 2019.
