Officials of the Philippine Embassy in Japan Meet with the Filipino Parishioners of the Franciscan Chapel Center – Roppongi
On 4 February 2024, Philippine Embassy officials led by Philippine Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano met with Filipino parishioners of the Franciscan Chapel Center – Roppongi.
The meeting presented an opportunity to share with the parishionersinformation on the various consular and migrant workers-related services the Embassy provides, as well as updates on the programs of Philippine agriculture and tourism. Ambassador Garcia-Albano was joined by First Secretary and Consul Mary Joy Ramirez, Second Secretary and Consul Thomas Philip Aquino, Labor Attaché Ramon Pastrana, Welfare Officer Nico Herrera, Agriculture Attaché Maria AliliaMaghirang, and Tourism Attaché Niel Ballesteros.
Many of the parishioners who attended the meeting were members of the Filipino Chorale Group “HimigKoenji.” The choir sang 2 songs at the end of the meeting. Filipino priest, Fr. Edwin Corros, was also present to support the activity.
The Philippine Embassy is actively looking for more opportunities to reach out to the members ofthe Filipino community in Japan, including during its consular outreaches to Prefectures which are far from Tokyo.
